Waste No Weed: The Basics of Keeping Your Stash Fresh

At one point or another, you inevitably come across the diabolical plight of having your bud hit a drought. Having a stash of dry flower is almost universally regarded as a very bad thing that we should all seek to avoid. All hope is not lost, however, because there are methods by which you can nurse your dry weed back to its former freshness.

Orange Peels

The rosetta stone of weed re-moistening is to add a fresh orange peel to the storage container. For starters, you should always store your weed in Tupperware or a glass jar of some sort – not a Ziplock bag. Dry weed is marked by lost flavor, but the addition of the orange peel will likely help your weed’s taste and avoid a harsh, dry hit from it.

Cut an orange peel that is equitable to the amount of weed you’re trying to reinvigorate and situate it with your buds accordingly. Reseal your container and let it stand for a few hours. By the end of the day, your weed should have regained some of its hydration.

As a precaution, be sure not to leave the peels in the container for too long. This could cause a whole new disaster for your bud in the form of mold – and nobody wants to smoke mold!

Lettuce

If you aim to keep the citrus flavor down, but still want to give your dry weed a boost, you may substitute iceberg lettuce for the orange peel. The lettuce will encourage moisture without the activating the terpenes, which affect the scent and flavor.

Be certain to wrap the lettuce in paper towels before placing it in your container to discourage the weed from sticking to it.

Fresh Weed

Believe it or not, you can freshen weed with weed! Adding fresh, uncured Marijuana buds (preferably of the same strain) to the storage container of your dry weed can be just what the doctor ordered for a moisture boost.

Marijuana bud is very damp and vital when it is initially trimmed and will share its moisture with other dehydrated buds. This method will add a little bit of flavor as well, which is never a bad thing.

Outstanding sativas selection for wake 'n bake! Only comment would be to replace "Voodoo" with the real "Thai Stick" fr. Thailand. Thank you. Talk to you later, Arthur
